This year, <strong>Homecoming will be a season of events<\/strong> beginning with an alumni bus trip to the Governor\u2019s Cup (URI vs. Brown) football game in Pawtucket on Oct. 3 and ending with the URI vs. Providence College rivalry basketball game in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The URI Foundation is replacing the traditional Rhodyville block party with a <strong>special indoor WinterFest event before the URI vs. PC basketball game<\/strong> on Dec. 5. WinterFest will be held in Keaney Gym and will feature food, giveaways, entertainment, alumni-owned business vendors, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Get Involved!<\/strong><br>Colleges and campus partners are invited to <strong>participate in WinterFest by hosting a booth.<\/strong> We encourage you to create fun, interactive experiences for attendees such as crafts, DIY activities, games, challenges\u2014any hands-on ways to highlight your college\/department\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Let us know about any special event you plan to host that weekend, such as an open house, tour, performance, lecture, or reunion.<\/strong> The foundation will be promoting a calendar of events open to alumni\/visitors during WinterFest Weekend (the first weekend in December) to showcase URI and celebrate the innovation, creativity, and community that make our campus special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to Sign Up<\/strong><br>Departments that would like to host an activity at WinterFest or are planning events during WinterFest Weekend are asked to <strong>complete <a href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/019f137867167d149efa32a356c069ad\">this form<\/a> by Sunday, Nov. 1<\/strong>, to be included in the promotion schedule for the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be sure to follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alumni.uri.edu\/events-reunions\/annual-special-events\/homecoming-weekend\/\"><strong>Homecoming page<\/strong><\/a> for regular updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please contact Patrick Bouthillette, assistant director of alumni engagement, at patrick.bouthillette@uri.edu with any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 26, 2026 With URI Football set to play home games at Centreville Bank Stadium for the upcoming season, Homecoming will look a little different.
