The lecture series brings experts from a variety of forensic science specialties to URI\u2019s Kingston campus each semester.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAll seminars are free and open to the public and take place on Fridays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in URI\u2019s Pastore Hall, 51 Lower College Road, Room 124.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe speakers and their topics are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFeb. 13, David Detora, Rhode Island medical examiner, \u201cDeath Scene Investigations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFeb. 20, John Drugan, senior forensic chemist at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, \u201cForensic Analyses and Case Studies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFeb. 27, Dennis Hilliard, director of the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory at URI, \u201cBlood Alcohol Civil Cases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMarch 6, Leslie Nolan, senior forensic scientist, Rhode Island Department of Health, \u201cDrug Chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMarch 13, Laurie Olgivie, toxicology supervisor at the Rhode Island Department of Health, \u201cToxicology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMarch 27, Walter Williams, Warwick Police, \u201cBlood Spatter Analysis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n April 3, Matt Zarella, Rhode Island State Police, \u201cK-9 Training and Searches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nApril 10, Priya Banerjee, Rhode Island state medical examiner, \u201cThe Medical Examiner\u2019s Job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nApril 17, Peter Tytell, Forensic Research LLC, \u201cDocument Examination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nApril 24, Albert Giusti, Rhode Island Department of Health, \u201cBreath Analysis.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nEmma Clarke, an intern in the Department of Marketing &amp; Communications and a public relations major, wrote this release.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 February 12, 2015 \u2013 Breath analysis, blood spatter and drug chemistry will be among the topics discussed during URI\u2019s spring Forensic Science Seminar Series.
