TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxURI, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxURI event, TED Talk videos and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

KINGSTON, R.I. – Jan. 3, 2025 – Mark Twain is credited with saying, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” And that was more than a hundred years before social media.
