Welcome from the Director
Welcome to the home page for the beautiful 2300 acre W. Alton Jones Campus of the University of Rhode Island.
Our mission is to provide environmental education to school age children and we have summer camp and other seasonal camp programs, school trip programs, team building and weekend conferences.
The second mission is to provide a retreat setting for adults and our Whispering Pines Conference Center, a perfect retreat setting for adults for all types of meetings and conferences for groups under 100 people. We also host weddings and other special events.
In 2006-07 we enjoyed visits from over 9,200 students at the Environmental Education Center and 12,000 guests at the Whispering Pines Conference Center and we hope you will be able to visit with us in the near future.
