Professor Dilworth received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1973 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1976. He has been recognized for his work and academic contributions by both the Rhode Island Foundation and the University of Rhode Island Research Council.
His art has been reviewed regularly in the New England press as well as in Florida, New York, Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and Texas. Dilworth's work is widely collected, from the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, to the Fairmont Hotel Corporation, San Francisco. He teaches Painting, Drawing, Design, and African American art history at the University of Rhode Island.
