Rebecca graduated URI in 2012 as an Art History major. As a senior she completed a senior honors project for the URI honors program. Part of this project was to create a virtual museum based on the extensive research she completed throughout the semester. The research portion was based in Medieval Sicily at four sites: the Cathedral of Cefalu, the Cappella Palatina, the Church of the Martorana, and the Cathedral of Monreale. These sites display cultural mixing through their architecture and architectural decoration, and draw influence from Latin Christian, Greek Christian, and Islamic traditions. Although based in the past, this period in Sicily's history is relevant to modern day because it shows that different cultural groups can live together in a harmonious society.
