Welcome to the History Program at the University of Rhode Island! The History program encompasses the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin American, the Middle East and Africa. The History Department prides itself in offering a broad variety of courses taught by active scholars who are dedicated to their teaching. Its introductory courses serve students in all undergraduate programs and acquaint them with human experiences from times and places throughout the world. Its advanced undergraduate and graduate courses serve undergraduate and graduate history majors, students in the Teacher Education Program, and others with a keen interest in historical studies. The undergraduate History major is offered in Providence through the College of Continuing Education as well as in Kingston.
