The University of Rhode Island currently offers
coursework in integrated Chinese.
The four classes presently offered are:

Chinese 101: Beginning
Chinese I

Chinese 102: Beginning
Chinese II

Chinese 103: Intermediate Chinese I

Chinese 104: Intermediate Chinese II
The Beginning level focuses on: fundamentals of grammar
and pronunciation, exercises in reading, writing and conversation.
Prerequisite: (for 101) no prior Chinese is required; (for 102) Chinese 101
or equivalent.
The Intermediate level focuses on: development of facility in reading
narrative and expository prose; exercise in grammar, listening comprehension,
and speaking. Prerequisite: (for 103) Chinese 102 or equivalent; (for 104)
Chinese 103 or equivalent.

The International Engineering Program is currently laying groundwork for
Chinese IEP, a program that leads students to earn simultaneous degrees in
