Amelanchier laevis

Allegheny Serviceberry

Another Amelanchier, with distinctly purple/bronze/coppery colored leaves, smooth on underside, and flowers in larger panicles than the others. Edible purple-black fruits are attractive to wildlife. Tolerates somewhat drier soil than other Amelanchier. Native to RI. 15-25' x 15-25'.
