Chokecherry

Small, multi-stemmed tree or large shrub. Dark green serrated leaves are whitish on underside. White flowers in spring. Tiny edible fruit is purple when ripe. Full sun, tolerates moist or dry soil. Native to RI. 20-30’ x 18-25’.
