Common Elderberry
Multi stemmed shrub, leafs out early. Dark green foliage, white flowers mid summer. Small edible purple fruits in fall, attractive to birds. Transplants well. Prefers moist soil, will tolerate wet areas or dry soil, pH adaptable. Tolerates some shade. Native to RI. 5-12’ x 5-12’.
