At URI Dining Services, excellence is our mission. We are dedicated to enriching the experiences of our customers and guests by providing the highest quality of food and services in a nutritionally sound manner within a caring, attentive and appealing environment. We feature home style favorites, regional and ethnic specialties, lower fat/lower calorie options, and vegan and vegetarian selections.Visit one of our many retail operations for quick to-go options, or enjoy the variety and atmosphere of our all-you-can-eat dining halls.


Award Winning Services: 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008!

Our Hope Commons facility, which features Mainfare, Rhody Market and the Corner Store, has won awards including the gold medal in the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards from NACUFS ...four years in a row! These award recognizes the most successful ideas in menus, presentations, special events planning, and new dining concepts in a national competition among on-campus food services, as well as green building LEED certification. The Corner Store has received the "Best In Business" award for variety and product mix. Thank you to all of our staff for making this possible!!!

Nutrition News: How to Make it Through Your Exams

Think rest and fuel. Exams are coming up; students are very stressed and are cutting back on sleep in order to study for exams. This can result in sleeping late and missing meals. Meals can actually help you concentrate during your studying and exams. Here are a few tips. Eat breakfast and lunch! A good breakfast before an exam is an egg, toast or English muffin with fruit or juice. A second option would be peanut butter on toast with fruit. A good lunch would be a turkey, ham, roast beef, or cheese sandwich on wheat bread, fruit, and a glass of milk. Another option would be a peanut butter sandwich, fruit, and glass of milk. These meals provide carbohydrate and protein to help you focus and concentrate on your exams. Coffee or an energy drink can help you focus, but too much caffeine can make you anxious and jumpy. It can also interfere with your sleep if you take it late in the day.
