Can I use any of my “meals” at URI Dining retail establishments?

What is the difference between Dining Dollars included with the meal plan and the optional Ram Account?

Dining Dollars are included in the price of the Resident Meal Plan (Campus Plus or Campus Premiere). A discounted balance of Dining Dollars is given to the student at the time of enrollment to the plan. Dining Dollars are valid at all URI Dining retail establishments. Locations accepting Dining Dollars include Rhody Market at Hope Commons featuring Ice Cream Machine, Upper Crust and Common Grounds where we proudly brew Starbucks . Also located in Hope Commons we accept Dining Dollars at the Corner Store, a retail mini-market. At the Memorial Union Dining Dollars are accepted in the Ram's Den Food Court featuring Asian Jump Express and Denelli's Deli, and at Ram Escape where we proudly brew Starbucks . In the athletic area of campus, Dining dollars are valid at Slapshotz located in the Boss Arena. In the library Dining Dollars are accepted at the Daily Grind where we proudly brew Starbucks . Why not just deposit funds into a Ram Account instead of purchasing a meal plan which includes Dining Dollars?

The initial balance of Dining Dollars is included as part of the meal plan price and therefore can be billed along with your tuition. Any applicable grants, scholarship, or loan programs can be applied against the price of the meal plan. There are 10% and 15% discounts in the balances of Dining Dollars that are included in the Campus Plus and Campus Premiere Plans respectively. The Ram Account must be funded using cash, check, or credit card directly to the Campus Access Office.

When do Dining Dollars expire?

A balance from first semester will carry over to second semester and are valid until the last day of meal service in May of the current academic year. Dining Dollars are non-refundable.

If my Dining Dollars balance falls to zero and I have funds in my Ram Account, can I still make purchases at the URI Dining retail establishments?

Yes, if Ram Account funds are available your Dining Dollars account automatically rolls over to Ram Account funds to complete any transaction made at URI Dining retail establishments.

Can I use my Dining Dollars at non-Dining retail establishments that accept Ram Account?

No, Dining Dollars cannot be used at non-Dining retail establishments that accept Ram Account only.

Can I add more Dining Dollars to my account?

If I use all of my guest passes, can I buy more?
