SNOW REMOVAL & GROUNDS WORK
SPECIAL POSTING FOR
LOCAL 528 MEMBERS

The Department of Landscape and Grounds is preparing a new 2009 - 2010 list of
Council 94/Local 528 employees to assist, complement or relieve Grounds personnel during snow removal operations, and a list for grounds maintenance work. Employees on the Sign Up list(s) will be notified when additional workers are needed to support the Landscape and Grounds department personnel. Personnel will be contacted by Seniority and in rotation.

Snow removal work includes shoveling, snow blowing, plowing, de-icing, sanding, operating small equipment and other related duties. Training for the operation of equipment will be scheduled. This year we will require and provide additional certification training for snowplow operators. Employees will be compensated for those training hours. Grounds maintenance work includes: weeding, trimming, mulching, planting, raking, mowing, sweeping, litter and trash collection, shoveling, setup and breakdown for campus events, athletic games, and other related duties.

Interested personnel must signup with Diana Mondragon, at 210 Flagg Road (office #105) before November 7, 2009. Must show URI ID to sign up. No phone calls will be accepted. Any names received after November 7, 2009, will be added to the bottom of the list.
