Research and Training Laboratories

Human Performance Laboratory

This lab houses two metabolic stress testing systems, EKG equipment, glucose and lactate analyzers, and Keiser air-powered A430 muscle power and movement velocity testing system. 

Body Composition Laboratories

These laboratories feature a BodPod, skinfold measurement and bioelectrical impedance equipment.

Muscle Physiology Laboratory

This laboratory focuses on the collaborative work between the Engineering, Nutrition, and Kinesiology departments examining the effects of aging on heart and skeletal muscle function & structure with special emphasis on mitochondria and aging.  This lab features electron & light microscopy, equipment for measuring cardiac function in animals, ultramicrotomy, and a biologic sample storage freezer.

Health Fitness Laboratory

This lab contains 8 Monark testing ergometers, blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes, skinfold calipers, hand grip dynamometers, sit and reach boxes, and other equipment for fitness assessments.  

Muscle Fitness Laboratory

This lab contains a full line of Cybex selectorized resistance training equipment, free weights, body balls, and training bands.
