There are a variety of scholarships available to students applying to URI. We recommend, however, that you pay careful attention to the Centennial Scholars Program offered by the University of Rhode Island. It provides competitive funding for high school students with good records and strong SAT scores. Many IEP students are Centennial Scholars.

Additional Assistance:

IEP students often become eligible for additional assistance after the first year of the program. Many IEP students are offered summer internship positions with partner companies in the U.S. Then, in the fourth year of the program, IEP students all complete paid internships abroad. Thanks to several sources of support, IEP students typically spend their fourth year abroad at a cost less than staying one year at URI !

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
