
Founded by the Romans, the city of Salamanca offers a resplendent setting for immersion in Spanish life, language and culture. Situated in the northwest region of Spain (about 120 miles from Madrid and near the border of Portugal), Salamanca boasts one of the oldest universities in the world and the oldest in Spain, as well as the country's most magnificent examples of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, century old cathedrals, and monuments.
Academics:
Students can opt to participate in one of the following programs:
Program A: Intensive Undergraduate Language and Culture (up to 9 credits)
Program B: Graduate (and Advanced Undergraduate) Literature, Language and Culture (6 graduate credits). Program B courses include:
Housing and Dining:
Dormitory and homestay accomodations available as a double occupancy. Single room occupancy accommodations available upon request for an additional fee of 40 Euros (90 Euros for homestays) Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided and vegetarian accommodations are available.
Cultural Activites:
Excursions to Lisbon, Fatima, and Ciudad Rodrigo. Two nights at a four-star hotel with side excursion to beaches. Excursion to Segovia. Excursions to Andalucia (Cordoba, Granada), Toledo and Madrid. Three nights at four-star hotel, with side excursion to beaches.
