Library only  Homeland Security Digital Library (HSDL)
Collection of full text documents on terrorism, counterterrorism, security and related issues. Sources include government policy reports, think tank publications, Congressional legislation, and other primary sources. Library use only and access is limited to members of the University community.
URI only  ICPSR Direct
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. Data files for use with statistical software, such as SAS, SPSS, and Stata, may be downloaded by URI users after creating an account on the site.
URI only  JSTOR
JSTOR is an online archive of back runs of core scholarly journals in many disciplines. Articles may be searched by keyword or browsed by journal. JSTOR provides high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. Note that JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR’s archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR. [user guide]

Access to monthly temperature, pressure, precipitation, and other measurements for approximately 2,000 surface data collection stations worldwide; storm data by state; and local climatic data for several hundred U.S. cities. Searchable, EPA agency-wide database of more than 4,000 scientific and technical work products such as research, technical assistance and assessments, along with more than 750 peer-reviewed products. Database records provide such information as project descriptions (abstracts), contacts for additional information, and electronic links to final reports and related research. Users can conduct keyword searches of search within nine cross-cutting science topics.

Offered by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics, this site indexes and abstracts transportation research covered in books, journal articles, technical reports. Other media, federal, state, local, and association publications and conference proceedings are also covered. The database extends from the 1960s to the present, with some coverage before 1960.

UNdata is the United Nations Data Access System, providing access to current, relevant and reliable statistics for free. Includes official statistics produced by countries, as well as estimates and projections. The domains covered are agriculture, education, energy, industry, labor, national accounts, population and tourism. Produced by United Nations Statistics and Population Divisions as well as other United Nations agencies.
