Welcome to Safety and Risk Management’s website.  Our mission: to assure a standard for a safe and healthful environment for all students, staff and visitors. This standard shall meet all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as the University's policies on health, safety, environmental matters.

Areas of responsibility include insurance, risk management, industrial hygiene, fire and burglar alarm systems, fire safety, hazardous materials, radioactive materials and chemical waste. Certain of these programs include a regular schedule of fire safety inspections, laboratory and chemical waste area inspections, fire drills and the testing of all components of the fire alarm systems. The department also responds to all safety-related complaints, accidents and incidents. To carry out this mission the Department shall provide information and education, review and monitoring, technical consultation, and emergency planning to the University community.
