Mission of the Office of Student Life
- To enhance the integration of classroom and out-of-class educational experiences
- To provide supportive programs and services to women, international students, commuters, older students and students with disabilities
- To foster an educational climate which embraces diversity and values participation of all individuals irrespective of class, race, ethnicity, disability, gender, religion, age, and sexual orientation
- To heighten awareness of disability issues and ensure the availability of accessible programs and facilities
- To mobilize students, faculty and staff to address substance abuse in the community and to provide meaningful prevention activities to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs
- To work with students, staff and faculty to build a civil and safe community
- To encourage adherence to community values described in URI CORNERSTONES by setting and maintaining clear behavioral standards
- To nurture and encourage leadership among students
- To empower students to participate in the University decision making process
