Permission to Dream
The responsibilities of adult life are something we're always taking care of, and with the increase in tasks often comes a decrease in creative inspiration- at least, that was the case for me. Dreams were an important part of Abigail's childhood, always taking care to write them down and use them as inspiration for short stories that Abby wrote for herself and her friends. However, when she faced the challenges of beginning high school, she stopped writing and dreaming. After a while, Abby finally began to rediscover her creative spark and permit herself to dream again.
Abigail Joy Gordon
Abigail Gordon is a first-year student at URI pursuing a dual major in secondary education and French, with a minor in Spanish, and plans to be a high school language teacher. She’s lived in many places across the U.S., but spent her high school years in Durham, New Hampshire. A first-time TEDx speaker, Abby also writes short stories, is an avid reader, and enjoys sailing when time allows.
