Rosa virginiana

Virginia Rose

Low growing, dense suckering shrub with glossy dark green leaves. Scarlet to orange fall foliage. Reddish canes with thorns. Fragrant single pink flowers. Small red rosehips in late fall persist into winter. Full sun. Can be hedged. Thrives in sandy soil and tolerates salt, drought. Native to RI. 4-6’.
