2 Saturday National Association of Teachers of Singing, Rhode Island Chapter: RINATS Songfest, Margaret Frazier, coordinator. Talented area student vocalists participate in juried events with awards given out to the best singers in various categories. 9:00am-5:00pm. FREE and open to the public.

8-l0 Friday- Sunday Piano Extravaganza! Manabu Takasawa, coordinator. A performance festival showcasing our 88-keyed friend, the grand piano.
8 Friday Piano Extravaganza! Manabu Takasawa, coordinator. Featured guest artists, the Belsky-Maxwell Piano Duo, will play repertoire ranging from the great masters to newly commissioned works. Based out of Chicago, they have toured throughout the Midwest and have a reputation as a unique and exciting new ensemble with particular audience rapport. Svetlana Belsky is the Coordinator of Piano Studies at the University of Chicago Department of Music, and Jennifer Maxwell is an avid performer and educator currently working on a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at Boston University. This is a rare opportunity to hear a professional piano duo in a full concert program. 8:00pm.

15 Friday URI Opera Workshop, Rene de la Garza, director. Presenting a fully staged theatrical work with URI student vocalists and guest artists and orchestral accompaniment. 8:00pm.
