URI’s College of Business Administration to induct
six into its Hall of Fame
Banquet to be held April 21 in Newport

KINGSTON, R.I. -- March 8, 2001 -- The University of Rhode Island’s College of Business Administration has announced this year’s inductees into its Hall of Fame.
Six individuals who have made substantial contributions to the mission and reputation of the College of Business Administration will be honored April 21 during the third annual URI College of Business Administration Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony at the Hyatt Regency, Newport. The program begins at 6 p.m.

The following individuals will be inducted into the 2001 Hall of Fame:

o Bradford R. Boss, of North Palm Beach, Fla.; a 1955 graduate of the College of Business Administration; chairman of the board and former chief executive officer of A.T. Cross, Lincoln; avid supporter of the University of Rhode Island; known for his significant civic and professional contributions.

o Cynthia M. Deysher, of Sudbury, Mass.; a 1978 graduate of the College of Business Administration; former chief financial officer and vice president for ArrowPoint Communications, Inc.; member of the College of Business Administration Business Advisory Council.

o Asa S. Knowles, (posthumously); first dean of the College of Business Administration; third president of Northeastern University (1959-1975); credited with pioneering co-operative education.

o Kenneth Munroe, of Narragansett, R.I. and Naples, Fla.; a 1943 College of Business Administration graduate; former president of Munroe Realtors, Inc.; legendary history of support and involvement with the University of Rhode Island; renowned for civic, professional and charitable contributions.

o Senator Claiborne Pell, of Newport, RI; distinguished United States Senator from Rhode Island from 1961 – 1997; career-long supporter of higher education; long-time support of the University of Rhode Island; assisted the College of Business Administration in the establishment of its Ph.D. program.

o Robert S. Russell, of East Greenwich, R.I.; a 1975 graduate of the College of Business Administration; chief executive officer of Rusco Steel Co., Inc.; avid supporter of the University of Rhode Island and the College of Business Administration; member of the College of Business Administration Business Advisory Council.

Individuals or organizations wishing to participate as sponsors can reserve tables with seating for 10 at the following sponsorship levels.

oPlatinum Sponsor - $1,500 (table of ten)
oGold Sponsor - $1,000 (table of ten).
Individual tickets are $50 each.

All sponsors will be recognized in the commemorative program, receive special mention at the event, as well as have the opportunity to display a banner at the event.
