Curator of ancient sculpture to lecture at URI
KINGSTON, R.I. -- September 24, 2002 -- Mette Moltesen, curator of the renowned collection of Greek and Roman sculptures at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptothek in Copenhagen, Denmark, will visit the University of Rhode Island to lecture and talk with students on Tuesday, October 8, at 5 p.m. in the Cherry Auditorium of the Chester Kirk Center at URIs Kingston Campus.
Moltesens discussion about collecting ancient sculptures and the art market in late 19th Century Rome will be free and open to the public. An engaging speaker, she is an internationally known scholar of Greek and Roman sculpture.
