URI Great Performances presents the Jacques Thibaud (TEE-BOH) String Trio

KINGSTON, R.I. -- February 16, 2005 -- URI Great Performances presents the Jacques Thibaud (TEE-BOH) String Trio on Friday, February 25 at 8 p.m.

Founded at the Berlin School of Art in 1994, this trio from Berlin perform from memory without the score or a music stand in sight, resulting in a compelling, gripping, powerful performance.

With their charm, youthful exuberance and astounding virtuosity, they delight audiences of all ages in large and small venues. Their name pays homage to their inspiration, the great French violinist Jacques Thibaud.

The program will include the Mozart Flute Quartet in D Major with guest Rhode Island artist Susan Thomas, flute. This program is sponsored in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and funding from Rhode Island Analytical.

The performance takes place in the URI Fine Arts Center, Kingston. Tickets ($15 General, $12 URI Faculty/Staff/Senior and $5 Students) may be purchased in advance or at the door.
