URI Friends of Oceanography to Host Early Morning Bird Walks

Narragansett, R.I. -- April 27, 2005 -- Whether youíre a novice or experienced bird watcher, you wonít want to miss out on this series of early morning walks at URIís Narragansett Bay Campus.

Led by Dr. Robert Kenney, a URI Graduate School of Oceanography marine scientist and expert birder, the walks will be held on four Wednesdays next month on May 4, 11, 18, and 25, at 7 a.m.

Participants will meet at the Coastal Institute Building on the URI Bay Campus in Narragansett and enjoy scoping the abundance of songbirds that arrive with the advent of spring, including warblers, catbirds, and orioles. The fee for each walk is $2 for Friends of Oceanography members and $5 for non-members. Preregistration is NOT required.
