Registration starts Feb. 24 for URIís Summer Session 2006

KINGSTON, R.I. -- February 21, 2006 -- Registration begins Friday, February 24, for University of Rhode Island Summer Semester 2006. More than 500 courses are being offered with classed located in Kingston or Providence, as well as delivered online.

The summer semester has two, five-week sections. Section 1 will run from May 22 to June 23 and Section 2 runs from June 26 to July 28. There is also an alternate session with courses being offered in one, two, three, six and 10-week formats. Daytime, evening and weekend class meetings are available.

Housing is available for those who want to stay in Kingston, allowing them to earn credits while enjoying all that South County has to offer in the summer. There are programs specially designed for minorities, and programs for living/learning in foreign countries, and for independent study.

Courses are offered at a substantial discount for the summer, running as low as $168 per credit.
