Office of Research and Graduate Education

The Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education in the College of Pharmacy provides faculty support for the development of independent scholarly research along with the cultivation of collaborative, interdisciplinary research programs. The focus of current and future goals for the Associate Dean's office includes:

1. Fostering an environment that supports faculty in developing both independent and collaborative research endeavors
2. Assisting faculty with the pre-award processes which include search and selection of grant funding opportunities, and preparation and submission of research proposals
3. Providing assistance to graduate students through program development for admissions, programs of study, and awarding of fellowships, teaching assistantships and travel stipends.
4. Promoting and advancing the achievements of the college's research on a local, national and global level through recruitment efforts and sponsoring scientific conferences, symposiums and workshops
5. Representing the college research and graduate programs with the URI Research and Economic Development Division, the Graduate School, and with external communities
6. Assisting the Dean with budget, human resources and oversight of program development to advance research efforts as well as to enhance pharmacy graduate programs.
7. Managing research facility assets through a cost center model to achieve financial sustainability of these assets.
