A group of URI College of Pharmacy students and faculty enjoyed yoga on the College’s green on a recent fall afternoon.

The event, run by pharmacy professors Virginia Lemay, Ashley Buchanan, and Anita Jacobson, was offered to help pharmacy students alleviate stress. “We were noticing already that students were feeling disconnected, and so we were looking for ways to address that while observing CDC guidelines,” LeMay said.

In the past and pre-pandemic, the College of Pharmacy ran a popular weekly mindfulness meditation program for the University. Such initiatives reflect the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to improving the quality of life in local, national, and global communities.
