‘Birds, Bees, and Apple Trees’ URI plans environmental program for children during April vacation KINGSTON, R.I. — March 1, 2000 — What do birds, bees, and apple trees have in common? The answer is the University of Rhode Island. URI is offering an environmental education program by that name for children, ages 7 to 12, during the April school vacation. “Birds, Bees, and Apple Trees” is a chance for kids to get hands-on exploration of the natural world in the gardens and greenhouses on URI’s Kingstown campus. Children can sign up for one, two or three mornings. Pre-registration required. The program will run April 19, 20, 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.
