‘Spring into Action with the Gardening Experts’ Gardening presentations and workshops at URI KINGSTON, R.I. — March 2, 2001 — Both novice and experienced gardeners will gain new insights during the sixth annual “Spring into Action with the Gardening Experts” on Saturday, March 31, sponsored by the University of Rhode Island’s Cooperative Extension Education Center and the URI Master Gardener Association. This day-long, hands on program will feature fun and useful presentations by URI Master Gardeners and URI faculty and staff, and provide participants with a chance to share information and tips with other gardening enthusiasts. Available workshops include coastal landscaping, Hydrangeas for the home, early pruning and integrated pest management, planning your vegetable garden, turning an ordinary corner lot into an “English Garden,” and others. Located at URI’s Learning Landscape Gardens, the event fee is $20 for a half-day and $30 for the full day. Registrations with payment are due by Monday, March 19.
