Fall “Meet the University” programs planned at URI

KINGSTON, R.I. — October 1, 2001 — High school seniors and their families are invited to the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston Campus to “Meet the University” this fall. The sessions will take place on Fridays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 9 and on Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 10. All programs begin in Edwards Auditorium.

The Saturday programs begin with a presentation and light refreshments at 9:30 a.m. and end at about 1:30 p.m. The Friday afternoon sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at about 4 p.m.
“Meet the University” is designed to give prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about admissions, financial aid, special services, internships, study abroad offerings, and academic advising.

The events start with a welcome address by URI President Robert L. Carothers and are followed by a tour of the campus and an informational fair in the Memorial Union. Faculty, administrators, and students are available to answer questions.
