URI Music PREP Program announces winter classes

KINGSTON, R.I. — January 23, 2002 — The University of Rhode Island Music Department’s Pre-College and Adult Music Education Division (Preparatory Program) has announced the following winter schedule of lessons and classes.

Adult Beginner Piano Class. Open to adults with little or no previous piano experience, this class meets on Wednesdays from 7–8 p.m. for 10 weeks, beginning Feb. 6. The class will meet in the University’s state-of-the-art piano lab, room H105 of the Fine Arts Center. The fee for this class is $165, including registration.

“Four Hands Together,” Christine Müller’s popular piano course will meet for eight weeks beginning Feb. 2. This class is open to children ages 4-6 that come with an adult to learn the basic elements of piano. The class meets on Saturday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center piano lab, room H105. Enrollment is limited. The fee for the class is $135, including registration.

Private Lessons are available in all orchestral and band instruments, voice, piano and guitar, taught by Prep Program faculty and URI Music Students. Fees vary by instructor category. Private lessons begin the week of Jan. 28 and continue for 12 weeks, ending with recitals in May.
