KINGSTON, R.I. – February 16, 2007 – Andy Rosenzweig, a former deputy police chief in Providence and Hartford, Conn. is scheduled to speak at the University of Rhode Island’s Forensic Science Seminar Series on Friday, Feb. 23.

Free and open to the public, the program runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Pastore Hall, Room 124.

Rosenzweig, a cold case expert, will speak about the challenge of undertaking a cold case murder investigation, the current state of murder rates and clearances, and the importance of bringing the responsible individuals to justice.

Rosenzweig has more than 40 years experience in policing and investigations. In addition to working for the Providence and Hartford police departments, he was a member of the New York City Police Department, serving as patrolman, sergeant and lieutenant in the patrol and investigations divisions. From 1985 to 1999, he served as chief investigator for the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
