 WHAT: URI vigil to mourn the loss of those who were killed last week in Baton Rogue, La., St. Paul, Minn. and Dallas Texas. From a message signed by University leaders announcing the vigil: “As the country continues to react and respond to the recent events, as a university community we will uphold our values of treating each other with respect and with dignity. We must come together to support all members of our community in an effort to promote a more humane and just society. We must not blame entire groups of people, or all those belonging to a particular profession, for the horrific acts of individuals. Let us recommit to uniting as a community. Let us recognize that finding solutions and healing will not be easy and will take time. Every positive and loving action, no matter how small, can be a step toward a better future.”
