RI-INBRE to host Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium

WHO: The University of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE) will host its annual Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium Friday, July 28. URI President Marc Parlange, Roger Williams University Provost Margaret Everett will offer opening remarks. Bethany Jenkins, interim vice president of research at URI, and Samantha Meenach, RI-INBRE training core director, will also offer comments.

WHAT: The Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium features research findings from undergraduate students throughout the state. More than 140 research posters covering multiple topics will be presented by students from nine colleges and universities in Rhode Island.

WHEN: Friday, July 28, 9 a.m. – noon.

WHERE: URI Kingston Campus — Avedisian Hall, 7 Greenhouse Road, Kingston; Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering, East Alumni Ave., Kingston.

The RI-INBRE program, which is based at URI, is a statewide network designed to build the biomedical research capacity of Rhode Island institutions, by supporting and developing talented individuals committed to research careers in the state. The research themes of the RI-INBRE program include cancer, environmental health sciences and neuroscience.
