BACKGROUND: A staff member in the Office of Admission, Ms. Sanchez was killed in a motor vehicle accident late last month. She was in her ninth month of pregnancy. Her baby, Daryel Noah, died tragically this week. A 2011 University of Rhode Island graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, Ms. Sanchez became a permanent member of the admission staff last fall. Passionate about her URI experience and the benefits she gained from the Talent Development Program, she was enthusiastic in conveying her pride and great love for URI to prospective students. As a student, she worked as a manager at the Memorial Union, where supervisors described her as a great manager of people. Able to speak English and Spanish fluently, she was a major asset to the admission team.
