Naval War College terrorism expert to lecture at URI

KINGSTON, R.I. – October 11, 2007- Marc Genest, a professor at the Naval War College will discuss “Terrorism” on Oct. 19 at the University of Rhode Island Forensic Science Seminar Series.


The event will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Pastore Hall, 51 Lower College Road, Room 124, and is free and open to public.


Genest, a professor of strategy and policy, has appeared on WPRI, Channel 12(CBS) and on WNAC, Fox Providence to discuss the topic, “Are we any safer because of the war?”


He also has written two books, “Conflict and Cooperation: Evolving Theories of International Relations” and “Negotiating in the Public Eye: The Impact of the Press on the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Force Negotiations”.


Prior to his work at the War College, Genest was a professor of political science at URI.
