WHAT: The students will be stationed at 4-foot-tall, 300-pound blocks of melting ice – symbolizing a warming planet — with educational displays about climate change, discussing the issues related to global warming with passersby. The event is designed to raise awareness for Focus the Nation, the national global warming teach-in taking place at 1,600 college campuses around the country the following day.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Two locations – the URI Memorial Union, 50 Lower College Rd., and Hope Dining Hall, Butterfield Rd., both on the URI Kingston campus.
