Last week, URI’s Student Entertainment Committee held an audition/competition and four would-be comedians were advanced to the finals round. That round will take place Monday, March 5 at 8 p.m. with nationally known comedians and URI’s four finalists competing to see who is funniest. Comedian Jasper Reed will host the contest and other well-known comedians, Bryan Callen, Morgan Murphy and Sheng Wang, will join in the fun. Free and open to the public, the event will be held in Edwards Auditorium on the Kingston Campus
URI’s finalists are freshman coastal marine policy management major Zach Heir of Harrington Park, N.J.; senior theater major Ahmed Bharoocha of North Smithfield; marketing major Andrew Mayer of Athol, Mass, and junior philosophy major Billy Horrigan of Holliston, Mass.
The student who wins on Monday will move on to a nationwide online competition. The winner of the competition will perform live at “Spring Break in Mexico” with American Eagle.
