Friday, Feb. 25, all classes on all campuses will be delivered virtually

With a winter storm watch in effect and forecasters calling for snow and freezing rain all day Friday, Feb. 25, all classes on all campuses will be delivered virtually. Students should check their email and Brightspace course site for course-specific remote learning expectations. We urge faculty who had planned to teach in-person on Friday to share their course expectations, whether they involve independent work or a synchronous remote class meeting.

Clinical Experiences

In-area pharmacy, nursing, and physical therapy students should contact their site preceptor/clinical instructor to discuss the appropriate actions to take Thursday evening or Friday.

Library

On Thursday evening, Feb. 24, the Library will close at midnight.  On Friday, Feb. 25, the Library will be closed. Students can use the 24 Hour Room.

COVID-19 Testing

URI Surveillance Testing Center located in the Memorial Union will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather with testing to resume on Monday. Symptomatic testing will be available at Health Services provided it is safe to do so. Please monitor health.uri.edu for any impact the weather may have on hours of operation.

Events

If you have questions regarding a specific University event, please contact the event organizer.

The University will be open for normal business operations on Friday. All essential employees must report to work. Non-essential employees may either work remotely or discharge vacation or personal leave, with the approval of their supervisor.

The University will continue to monitor the storm’s track and will provide additional updates about University operations as necessary.
