A 2004 University of Rhode Island graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology testified as an expert from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Monday in the Florida murder trial of Casey Anthony.
The 25-year-old Anthony is charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony in the summer of 2008. The girl’s remains were found in the woods near the family home in Florida’s Orange County.

URI honored with national award for campus internationalization efforts: The Association of International Educators has recognized the University of Rhode Island as one of eight recipients of the 2011 Senator Paul Simon Awards for Campus Internationalization. The winners were chosen from a pool of 60 nominations.
