Bubble soccer
What? It’s bubble soccer at URI.

Enjoy cleaning up the environment at a full sprint? Or maybe a meditative art activity is more your speed? Perhaps you like a dose of fun with your daily workout routine?

We’ve got the thing for you.

URI’s Department of Campus Recreation promotes health and well-being while fostering collaborative learning experiences and embracing individual interests at its three recreation facilities: the Mackal Field House and Tootell Aquatic Center and the Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center.

Fitness programs, intramural and club sports, aquatics, and sailing, kayaking, and paddling are available to students, as are monthly wellness outreach programs. In September, students paint and leave rocks for others to find and collect as part of URI’s Kindness Rock Project. In October, we challenge our students to pick up trash around campus as part of our plogging initiative (#ploggingURI).  Trash pickup supplies are available at Fascitelli and Mackal. And in November, we run origami workshops for students interested in promoting messages of trust and peace through the making of origami peace cranes.

Visit Campus Rec for these new wellness initiatives: student-led wellness coaching, small-group personal training, monthly “Arts for Wellness” classes, and a five-week mindfulness class.
