URI College of Nursing to host Friends of College Event, Dec. 6

KINGSTON, R.I. — November 23, 1998 — The University of Rhode Island College of Nursing and Interim Dean Dayle Joseph will hold the Third Annual Friends of the College of Nursing Event, Sunday, Dec. 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. on the Kingston Campus. From 3 to 4:30 p.m., a reception will be held in White Hall, the home of the College of Nursing. From 5 to 7 p.m., the group is invited to the Fine Arts Center to enjoy URI Theatre’s production of The Wiz. A $50 donation to the event includes the reception and one ticket to the play. Funds raised at the event will be used for student recruitment, student travel to the National Student Nurse Association’s Convention, student activities, academic and professional; faculty travel and research and College of Nursing representation at professional meetings. As part of the evening, Dave Pezzelli, owner of Tiffany Wigs, has donated a Maxwell Mays print, which will be raffled and the proceeds donated to the College of Nursing. The cost is $10 for one ticket and $25 for three. The chairs of the event are Dr. Milton Hamolsky, chief administrative officer of the Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, and his wife, Sandra Zion.
