Ram fever spreading throughout Rhody

KINGSTON, R.I. — March 11, 1999 — Governor Lincoln Almond today invited the public to the State House Friday, March 12, to root for the URI Rhody Rams as they prepare for their big game against the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Almond will travel to Milwaukee, Wis. tomorrow to cheer on the University of Rhode Island Rams as they compete in the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament Friday at 12:30 p.m. Almond has opened the State Room in the State House for a celebration beginning at noon on Friday in which all Rhode Islanders are invited to come and watch the Rhody Rams and cheer them on to victory. Refreshments will be provided and everyone is encouraged to come take part in the State Room festivities.
