URI’s College of Business Administration seeks nominees for Hall of Fame

URI’s College of Business Administration seeks nominees for Hall of Fame KINGSTON, R.I., — October 4, 2000 – The University of Rhode Island’s College of Business Administration is seeking nominations and applications for its third annual Hall of Fame ceremony in the spring. On April 21, 2001, the College will induct a number of prominent alumni/business people during a ceremony and formal dinner in the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel. Currently, there are 15 men and women in the Hall of Fame. Among them are: Alfred J. Verrecchia, president and chief operating officer, Hasbro, Inc.; Vincent Sarni, retired chairman and chief executive officer, PPG Industries; Robert L. Crandall, retired chairman and chief executive officer, AMR Corporation/American Airlines; the Honorable Alton W. Wiley, retired associate justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court and the late Peg Ackroyd, chief of the Rhode Island Division of Women and Children. Priority will be given to induction of individuals who are alumni of the College of Business Administration. However, non-alumni may be considered for induction. The primary consideration is the distinction the nominee has brought to the College, the University and/or the state of Rhode Island through their careers or though their contributions in advancing the mission and reputation of the College.
