Step right up to the first URI Career Services Career Carnival Jan 31 KINGSTON, R.I. — January 29, 2001 — Hurry, Hurry, Hurry. Step right up to the University of Rhode Island Career Services Career Carnival on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Memorial Union Ballroom. From 1 to 4 p.m., students will be able to meet recruiters, play games, enjoy free food and soda, and even get a chuckle out of Career Services staff members who will be dressed in costumes from the URI Theatre Department. “Students will be able to win big prizes, as well as meet 40 employers,” said Bobbi Koppel, director of URI Career Services. “We encourage faculty to bring their students to this fun event that will kick off our spring recruiting season.” Among the prizes: two Palm Pilots donated by Raytheon Co.; a DVD player donated by Arbor Associates; a $250 L.L. Bean gift certificate donated by MBNA New England; dinner for two and movies, popcorn and soda, donated by Our Lady of Fatima Hospital; (Providence) Bruins tickets, donated by General Dynamics Communications Systems; and dinner for two at the Hotel Viking, Newport, donated by the Hotel Viking.
