KINGSTON, R.I. — October 9, 2001 — The University of Rhode Island Alumni Association is seeking nominees for its 2002 Excellence Awards. Each year, excellence awards are presented to alumni who have demonstrated distinction in one of the following areas: arts, business, community service, education, professional achievement, research and science and technology.

In addition to the Excellence Awards, nominees are sought for awards given to recognize involvement in and service to the Alumni Association or the University as a whole.

The Alumni Association Excellence Awards Committee will select winners from the nominees, and the awards will be presented during URI Winter Homecoming activities in February 2002.

Please submit the name of the nominee, graduation class year, address, field of achievement, as well as the name of the person making recommendation, address and phone number with each nomination. Please also attach additional and substantial supporting documentation, resume and/or news clippings, etc. that will help the committee in making its decision.
