Theatre brings magic to the stage with Cinderella

KINGSTON, R.I. –November 4, 2002–The University of Rhode Island’s Theatre production of Cinderella commemorates the centennial of Richard Roger’s birth.
Originally adapted for the stage from the 1957 television version, with future recreations in 1965 and again in 1977, Cinderella has always successfully transported generation after generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true.
URI Theatre’s production of Cinderella will bring a timeless and magical fairytale to life this November on the Robert E. Will Theatre stage. The enchantment of Cinderella is reborn with the same great warmth and touch of hilarity that has touched the hearts of many for generations.
Cinderella comes to life under the direction of Paula McGlasson, Theatre Department chairperson, the musical direction of Lila Kane and choreography of John Michael Richardson. Costume designs were created by David T. Howard, lighting design by Christian Wittwer, sound design by David Roy and scenic design by Cheryl DeWardener.
The magic begins Nov. 14 and runs through Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m., Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. A signed performance will be held on Nov. 20. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students, senior citizens and children.
